Last year I began forcing my clients to print their photos. Okay, okay. I don’t TECHNICALLY force my clients to do anything. That sounds a little harsh 🤣. However, I do incorporate printing your images into my session workflow. In today’s blog post I’m delving into what triggered me to really start incorporating prints and artwork into my sessions. I’m also going to chat a bit about what it’s like to work with me and showcase some images of my favorite ways to preserve your family’s memories. If you’re new around here, let me introduce myself! I’m Corinne Isabelle and I specialize in Boston family photography. I create timeless, artful imagery while holding space for a fun and relaxed experience.
Boston Family Photography
I’m in my 5th year of business and I have learned so much about myself and also my clients. I know just how precious motherhood is and how time has become my most prized resource. We only have so much time in a day and we spend most of it taking care of our little ones. That often leaves little for us leftover. I don’t know about you, but by the end of the day I’m feeling exhausted! After I put my daughter to bed all I really want to do is relax and maybe watch an episode of two of The Great British Baking Show.
In my mind I want to get other things done, one of which is always: organizing my family photos and designing them into beautiful albums. Oh and I also day dream of selecting the perfect images to hang in large frames throughout our new home. The problem is … fatigue. Both physical and decision fatigue! As parents we are chasing around our kids all day – bam – physical fatigue. We’re also constantly making thousands of small, and big, decisions everyday – bam – mental fatigue. THIS is why I started incorporating deciding on physical prints and artwork from your photo session into my business.
Photos Are Meant For More Than Your Hard Drive
Vulnerable moment here.
I’m totally guilty of hoarding my family photos on my hard drives and my phone, because duh we all want to keep them safe digitally. However, I am also completely guilty of letting them sit on their little cyber shelf, collecting digital dust. Eek. That’s embarrassing to admit, because you’d think as a photographer I would be on top of that kind of thing and have a perfectly personalized home full of my family’s photos. Welp, I’m not. I’m just a mom, doing her best to love her family and enjoy life. I know that I’m not alone in this.
What I’ve Learned …
I know that if I’m struggling with these things then so are my clients. I realized that a beautiful way I can serve my clients better was to not only take beautiful photos of them, but help them actually print and enjoy their photos within their homes.
Life is busy. That’s the most obvious statement in the history of statements, haha. Yet it’s so true. I thought my life was pretty busy before I had children (don’t know what I was thinking back then). Add a baby into the mix and life gets hectic real fast. This is the main reason why I started incorporating a complimentary print credit within my business.
What’s This Print Credit All About?
After each session, my clients choose 1 of 3 ‘collections’ which all vary based on number of images and amount of print credit. This credit goes towards any of the products in my online store. You can choose from items such as fine art albums, printed photos in a gorgeous linen box, framed prints and more. I source from professional photo labs that are the best of the best and have amazing customer service, so that I know my clients are walking away from me with something that will last them forever. And not only that, but artwork that will be passed on to future generations.
